Acquittal in Rape and POCSO Case

Indian Penal Code (IPC)
Section 354 IPC – Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty.
Punishes acts of physical assault or use of criminal force against a woman intending to outrage her modesty.

Section 10 POCSO – Punishment for aggravated sexual assault

Section 12 POCSO – Punishment for sexual harassment of a child
Covers sexual harassment of a child through words, gestures, showing pornography, stalking, etc.
Section 6 POCSO – Punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault.
One of the most serious offences under POCSO.
Punishment may extend to rigorous imprisonment for a long term, including life imprisonment.
